Remember that whether you look sick or not, you are and the most important thing is to take care of yourself and get well.
Diet – Your diet should now consist of lean meats, fish, fruits, vegetables, good fats and low carb. Your fats should come from butter, whole milk, cheese, olive oil and meats. The days of processed and fast foods are over. Good clean pure water for drink and cooking is also essential. RO or reverse osmosis water it the best. It has all the chemicals, fluoride, salt etc removed.
If you have diabetes or high blood glucose you will want to eat low carb, limiting fruits, starchy vegetables, breads, crackers and some grains. It is best to keep your carb intake below 100 grams a day.

Sleep – You should be going to bed between 9 and 10 pm and getting up no later than 8am. Getting back to a normal wake/sleep pattern is essential for adrenal healing and health. Our bodies were made to sleep when it is dark and be awake when it is light.
Shift Work – This really goes along with sleep (above). Shift work does not allow the adrenals to rest or heal.
Alcohol – Is a NO NO. It is very hard on weak adrenals. It affects blood sugar and when cortisol is low your ability to stabilize glucose is not what it should be. Drinking may be done in moderation once adrenals are healed.
Exercise – Is a NO NO. Once cortisol reserves are built up and you are on an optimal level of thyroid, then some light exercise can be done. Starting out with some slow short walks and slowly working into more strenuous activities.
Stress – Stress is terrible for adrenals and your whole body. While we cannot avoid stress totally in our lives, it is time to look at your life and remove those stresses that are not necessary. Sometimes cutting stressful people or situations from your life is a necessary part of healing.
Multi-Vitamins – We do not recommend multi vitamins as it is simply not wise to take things we do not need. The amount of any vitamin in a multi is not going to be enough to correct a deficiency anyway as they must be a safe level for anyone to take. It is much better to only take what we know we need and take that in a correct amount tailored to our individual bodies.
Socializing – While a social life is a great thing to have; you may find yourself avoiding socializing when your adrenals are weak. There is a very good reason for this, Even FUN is stressful for the adrenals and requires extra cortisol that, at first, you will not have to give. Remember ANYTHING that you do outside your usual routine can use more cortisol and you may need to stress dose for that extra or pay the price with an adrenal crash.
